Television throughout Generations

show: I love Lucy
year: 50's
1. I love Lucy was more appropriate they were careful of what was being said or shown. The couple slept in seperate beds even though they were married, Lucy was wearing big pajamas that fully clothed her. The worst word they said was Butt Lucy called her husband that.

2. There were more men than women other than extras Lucy was the only female character. They were all caucasian. About 30 years of age or older.

3. This generation seems to value that women should stay home, take care of their husbands and children. I can tell because that's what Lucy's husband told her when she asked to be apart of Ricky's show at the club.

4. This show is different from what we see today, you see the women wearing revealing clothing, couples sleeping in the same bed, women going to work and some men staying home taking care of the house and kids. They say worse words now instead of just butt. It's different now because t.v wants to take thing to the next level, in attempt to keep people interested into the show.

Show: Bewitched
Year: 60's

1. Women wore lower neck dresses,

2. There were still more men thenwomen but there were atleast more than just one female character who wasn't an extra. Still mostly caucasians didn't really see other cultures other than the one french guy but he was still white.

3. This generation seemed to value that women should stay home still, but that they are going to push the limits and go do things that they want to do.

4. This show is more similar to now shows but still very different. Similar in ways that women are going out doing their own things and not staying home. Different in ways that they use bad words now than before, we don't really see any shows with witches in it anymore, maybe re-runs but thats about it.

On Television

1. I think books and tv are somewhat the same, in the sense that they both have actions and emotions, you can picture the actions and emotions while you're reading a book. While watching TV you can actually see the motions and emotions. Except in TV you dont have to read or use your imagination. In books you have to read and use imagination.

2.His prediction was correct, because now we have smartphones and ipods that allow you to go on internet, watch tv, talk to people, and take pictures. There's also skype on the computer that you can use to talk to people.

3. I think he's trying to say that information is going to keep people calm. People look to the news to get their information, like say a convict has escaped from jail, the people are going to watch the news to see if the convict has been found and caught, so then they won't have to worry or be scared anymore. I don't agree because there's alot of scary stuff on news that's going to keep people worrying but at the same time keep them calm.

4. I think journalists are meeting his expectations, because they take risks to get the information they need to give to the public. Paparazzi take risks by following celebrities around and invade their personal space just to let the public know what's going on in that celebrities life.

5.I think she means that when your always using technology you get so caught up in it, that you don't leave time for yourself to think about the truth if what is being put on the interenet is true, or to just go out for a jog and just have some you time. Benefits are you stay entertained and in the know, but hazards are that it pulls you away from reality.

6.Journalism is not as entertaining because they talk about things that just don't entertain society, although some news stories are interesting and keep people watching. I'd say we are an entertaining age because no one really cares about the facts anymore, they just want something that is exciting and interesting, the facts can be boring and people lose interest. The problem with only having 5-7 news stations is that there's not much choice, and there's less true facts.

Dating
  1. The boy wore a suit and dressed proper, his pants weren't low his hair was nice. The girl wore a dress and not a short dress either, used just the right amount of makeup. They spoke to eachother in a polite manner, they both respected one another and they guy didn't talk to her like she was his dog or something.
  2. Dating then was more formal, now it's take the person on a date and hope you get lucky by the end of the night. Some people go on formal dates to a restraunt just depends on the person you're with and how they treat the other person. The video would probably be more comedic now, and the people would be dressed way different, the girl would be wearing something that shows alot of skin and the guy would be dressed in jeans and a t-shirt most likely. Almost everything changed, the way people dress, to the way we talk to one another.
